NEW YORK - Fall footwear from Nike Inc., Beaverton, Ore., expands the spring '91 Air Huarache running shoe idea - glove-like fit that conforms to the foot while stabilizing it - and makes a bigger push to bring technology down to suggested retails of $65-$85.
Nike executives were in town last week previewing product and advertising.
For fall, Nike showcases the Huarache Fit System of Lycra-backed neoprene uppers set in a contoured footbed for women's aerobics and men's tennis product. This spring, men's basketball and men's and women's cross training are the new entries. ...
Performance still dominates at Nike
BEAVERTON, Ore. - Performance and lifestyle remain important themes in Nike Inc.'s spring '92 collections.
From basketball to outdoor footwear, color and performance are dominant components. The popular Air Jordan basketball shoe, for example, has been revamped with a "Living Color" graphic on the outsole to reflect a "young, energetic and fresh" product, said Peter Ruppe, product line manager.
